What is FAICE?

The FUNDACIÓN DE APOYO AL INSTITUTO CLEMENTE ESTABLE (FAICE) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 with the aim of creating a mechanism to streamline the management of research, development, and innovation projects led by IIBCE researchers.

In line with this premise, FAICE’s mission is to promote the production of original, high-quality knowledge generated at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biológicas Clemente Estable (IIBCE) to ultimately enhance its contribution to the community. Over the years of operation, FAICE has developed an agile, effective, and transparent management model, becoming an indispensable resource for collaborating for supporting the generation of original scientific knowledge and the training of young researchers at the IIBCE. FAICE views its activities as aimed at supporting the IIBCE’s activities within the National System of Science, Technology, and Innovation, without losing sight of the overarching goal of advancing scientific and techonological progress in Uruguay. Companies that make donations to FAICE will enjoy a tax benefit whereby 75% of the donation will be credited as a tax payment (Corporate Income Tax and Wealth Tax), and the remaining 25% may be deducted as a business expense for tax purposes.

Donation Example:

If you donate $100,000, the actual total cost, taking advantage of the tax benefit, will be $18,750.
